Chemical SocietyReviews was founded in 1972 with a high academic influence in chemistry andrelated fields. It is also one of the three most authoritative review journalsin the field of chemistry. The latest SCI impact factor for 2016-2017 is38.618.

Biomass resources are the only material renewable resources thatcontain carbon and catalytic biomass conversion can acquire a variety ofimportant chemicals. In recent years, Professor Zhang Zehui of SCUN has madeoutstanding achievements in catalytic conversion of biomass and publishedalmost 30 papers on SCI Area as a correspondence author in JACS, ACS Catal. ,Appl. Catal. B-Envrion. , J. Catal. , Green Chem. , ChemSusChem, J. Mater. Chem. A and so on. Professor ZhangZehui's research has been recognized by domestic and foreign counterparts. Atpresent, he has published nearly 2300 papers, and the H index is 29 and one ofwhich was selected for the 2013 China's 100 Most Influential International AcademicPapers and Zhang Zehui was as the communication author, another 8Correspondence author's papers were selected by the US Scientific InformationDatabase (ESI) highly cited paper.
ProfessorZhang Zehui, based on his research work, systematically summarized thecatalytic oxidation technology in catalyzing the conversion of biomasscarbohydrates into various important organic acids (formic acid, acetic acid,glycolic acid, malonic acid, oxalic acid, gluconic acid, glucose Diacids) andcatalyze the selective oxidation of furan compounds for the first time, andin-depth discussion and analysis of current methods. In this paper, ProfessorZhang Zehui made comments on various methods for catalyzing the oxidation ofbiomass to organic acids and furans and provided important suggestions for theresearch direction. This review paper plays a guiding and leading role in thecatalytic oxidation of biomass to synthesize important organic acids and furancompounds.
