Chester University of UK Delegation Group Visited SCUN

On Apr. 10, the group of five people including Tim Wheeler, President of Chester University, and Phil Harris, Dean of the Institute of Business Studies visited the university to discuss the two universities' full-scale exchanges and cooperation. In the morning, the forum was held at the Academic Exchange Center. Principal Li Jinlin, Vice President Du Dongyun, and Distinguished Professor Yang Changju and the International Cooperation and Exchange Division and related academic leaders attended the meeting. The meeting is presided over by Du Dongyun.

Li Jinlin first delivered a welcome speech. He pointed out that since the formal signing of the inter-school cooperation agreement, the exchanges between the two sides have become more frequent. The cooperation between the two universities should be gradual and progressive, starting with the joint training of students and mutual visits by teachers, vigorously promoting the 3+1 project for undergraduates and the 1+1 project for graduate students, establishing a long-term communication mechanism and long-term, stable and sustainable development of relationship and spare no efforts to develop more in-depth cooperation. Tim Wheeler stated that the University of Chester hopes to cooperate from all aspects with SCUN in six aspects, namely, the establishment of superior disciplines, cooperation in key disciplines, joint training of undergraduates and graduate students, mutual visits of teachers, and scientific research. 

After the symposium, the two parties jointly signed a supplementary agreement of the two schools' intent for cooperation. 

In the afternoon, Tim Wheeler and his team visited the college of Management and the college of Cultural Studies and conducted in-depth exchanges communications with the leaders and subject leaders of SCUN on such items such as joint student development, professional and curriculum development, teacher visits and collaborative research. 

Professor Marilyn Wheeler and professor Irene Harris observed the national dance teaching of the Music and Dance Academy, visited the Ceramic Arts and Lacquer Arts Laboratory of the National Experimental Center of National Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts, and spoke highly of the achievements of SCUN in the field of national dance and ethnic art. 

Professor Phil Harris gave an academic lecture at the Center for Academic Exchange entitled The Core Problem of Establishing a Global Brand and Cultivate International Entrepreneurs. He made an analysis and interpretation of the Chinese brand market situation and entrepreneurial characteristics. The teachers and students actively interacted with him.
