From Nov. 28 to December 1, co-hosted by World Rope Skipping Alliance, Asian Rope Skipping Alliance, Social Sports Guidance Center of the State Sports Administration, China College Student Sports Association and China High School Student Sports Association and undertaken by the Guizhou Provincial Sports Bureau and the People's Government of Libo County, the International Rope Skipping Open Competition of 2017 was held at the Libo gymnasium. SCUN had selected 14 students from the School of Physical Education to participate in 4 competitions.

In the competition, SCUN’s players struggled tenaciously and fought bravely, standing out with excellent skills and performance in the athletes, and gained 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal. Three student athletes -Liu Wenlong, Jiang Kun, Jiang Jifan won admission to the 2018 International Rope Skipping Open Championships and were selected by the national rope skipping team.

It was reported that the competition was the first time that a high level international rope skipping event held in China, including more than 700 athletes of 56 teams from 12 countries and regions in South Korea, Malaysia, Belgium and other regions. Since the SCUN rope skipping team was set up in 2016, this was the first time to participate in international competitions. With the support of the School of Physical Education and the active cooperation of all departments of the school, the rope skippers had trained hardly for 10 months and laid a good foundation for the award.
