On Jan. 27 (local time in America), Confucius Institute jointly organized by SCUN and University of Wisconsin-Platteville holds the year of the dog and the 10th Spring Festival party of Confucius Institute at the university art center. Members of Confucius Institute Council of University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Chinese professors, local community families, students and teachers of Confucius Institute and teachers from SCUN conducting academic visit in Confucius Institute participate in get-together and more than 400 Chinese and American guests gather together and celebrate New Year of year of the dog in China.

Member of American Style Spring Festival Gala kicks off traditional and busy dragon and lion dance and Confucius Institute Council of University of Wisconsin-Platteville-Aundra Shields makes a welcoming address. The get-together is held in happy and peaceful atmosphere, Tai Chi, national dance and singing Chinese songs together, etc. are unusually brilliant and overwhelming response comes from the audience. At the get-together, the audience appreciates brilliant performance and tastes Chinese delicious food.

In 2008, SCUN and University of Wisconsin-Platteville jointly establishes Confucius Institute in Wisconsin. Under the leading by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), Confucius Institute in Wisconsin makes a positive contribution to popularization of Chinese culture and develops rapidly itself. After popularization of 10 years, Spring Festival party of Confucius Institute has become the annual event eagerly hoped by local people.
