On February 22, China Association of Higher Education released The List of the Best Universities for Curricula Development between 2014 and 2018 and in 2018”in Hangzhou. Standing out from 1243 colleges and universities in China, SCUN has ranked the 98th in the List of the Top 300 Four-year Colleges and Universities in China between 2014 and 2018, the 8th among the colleges and universities in Hubei Province, and the 1st of the colleges and universities for national minorities in China. SCUN ranked the 86th in the List of the Top 100 Four-year Colleges and Universities in China in 2018, the 6th among the colleges and universities in Hubei Province, and the 1st of the colleges and universities for national minorities in China.
Compared with the ranking list between 2013-2017, the number of items to be evaluated for the ranking of the best colleges and universities in China between 2014 and 2018 were increased, with additional 12 items to be evaluated for the ranking of the best 4-year colleges and universities and additional 3 items to be evaluated for the ranking of the best higher vocational schools between 2014-2018. The number of the items to be evaluated for the ranking list of this round of election has been increased from the previous 18 plus 1 to “30 plus 4. The scores of each college or university and its performance in the organization of the competition will be included in the evaluation index system of the evaluation team this year. Next year, the provincial and national education research and reform as well as the report of educational research will be included as an additional factor to evaluate the competitors in the competition of education research and reform and curriculum development to increase competition among universities. Although SCUN cannot participate in the competition evaluated by the additional items, it achieved a higher score in the evaluation of the performance in educational development.
SCUN has been committed to developing the mode of innovative and entrepreneurial talents development by attaching great importance to the development of innovative talents, especially the innovative talents of ethnic groups, building platforms for developing the innovative ability of students of all ethnic groups based on its core competitiveness of qualified talents development and its objective of developing talents with both integrity and ability. In recent years, SCUN's has achieved increasingly high scores in the rating of educational development. In 2017, it received 766 awards from provincial, ministerial, national and international authorities, an increase of 25% from that (610 awards) in 2016. In 2018, SCUN won 965 awards from provincial, national or international authorities, including 19 awards (3 second prizes and 16 third prizes) from international authorities, 143 awards (1 special prize, 30 first prizes and 37 second prizes) from national authorities, and 803 awards (10 special prizes and 122 first prizes) from provincial authorities, which is a significant rise in both quantity and quality of awards.
