SCUN and Tibet University Signed Framework Agreement on Collaborative Innovation in Science and Education

On May 23, the party secretary of SCUN, Bian Jing and five other experts from the College of Health Sciences went to Tibet University to attend the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement on Collaborative Innovation in Science and Education between SCUN and Tibet University and the book launch of A Series of Books on Life Discovery in Qinghai-Tibet Region. Nima Ciren, deputy director of the standing committee of the people's congress of Tibet autonomous region and secretary of the party committee of Tibet University, Ji Jianzhou, President of Tibet University, relevant leaders, experts and scholars of the qinghai-tibet plateau research institute of Southwest University for Nationalities, Wuhan University Press, and the science and technology department of Tibet autonomous region participated in the activity. The ceremony was presided over by Yang Dan, vice President of Tibet University.

Ji Jianzhou introduced the history and development of Tibet University and welcomed our participation in the cooperation and co-construction of Tibet University.

Bian Jing introduced the subject development of SCUN. He pointed out that the inter-university cooperation linked by the utilization of resources in ethnic minority areas has a good complementarity to talent training and discipline development, and hoped that the two universities will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in undergraduate and postgraduate training, so as to make contributions to the development of ethnic minority areas and talent training.

Bian Jing and Ji Jianzhou signed the Framework Agreement on Collaborative Innovation in Science and Education. According to the agreement, the two universities have reached a number of strategic cooperation intentions, including joint cultivation of postgraduates, selection of doctoral supervisors, development of biological and ecological sciences on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and protection and utilization of biological resources. The agreement lays out a blueprint for the establishment of the first-class discipline of ecology of Tibet University and the doctoral program of biology of SCUN, which plays a great role in promoting the quality of personnel training. This is also an important measure of SCUN to strengthen cooperation with colleges and universities in ethnic minority areas and promote the common development of ethnic colleges and universities, and to establish a new training mechanism for high-level talents in the economic and social development of ethnic minority areas including Qinghai-Tibet region.

After the signing ceremony, the book launch of A Series of Books on Life Discovery in Qinghai-Tibet Region was held. Led by SCUN and participated by Tibet University and other universities, this book is compiled on the basis of years of arduous scientific investigation. It is a precious reference book to understand the magical life of individuals on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. After the meeting, Bian Jing and other people visited the Tibetan ancient books collection room and the Tangka exhibition room of art college.
