From July 2 to 10, the 2019 Rope Skipping World Cup, hosted by the International Olympic Committee and the World Rope Skipping Federation and the government of Oslo, Norway, was held at the Oslo National Sports Center. Five students from SCUN: Jiang Kun, Liu Wenlong, Jiang Jifan, He Rui and Feng Lin, took part in four competitions of turn-taking skipping and alternate skipping, etc. and won the bronze medal in the four-person alternate rope skipping competition. This is the best result achieved by Chinese teams in this competition.

SCUN students ranked sixth and fifth in the three-person alternate skipping and the two-person alternate skipping competition respectively with their skillful cooperation and difficult moves. Upon the recommendation of the World Rope Skipping Federation and the approval of China's National Rope Skipping Team, the team of SCUN has become the only team holding the flag of Rope Skipping Team of South Central University for Nationalities while standing on the winner's platform.

It is known that as one of the top three rope skipping competitions in the world, the Rope Skipping World Cup has attracted nearly 1,000 athletes from 26 countries and regions including China, the United States, France, Britain and Germany, making this year's World Cup the biggest in history. A total of 18 teams representing China's national rope skipping team participated in the competition.

Rope skipping is one of the superior and characteristic sports events in SCUN. Since the establishment of the team in September 2016, it has achieved many successes in international and domestic competitions. Sun Guilong, head coach of SCUN's rope skipping team, is also a coach of China's national rope skipping team and an international referee. In this competition, he served as the head of the referee team evaluating the level of difficulty.
