On the morning of November 16th, Ms. Chantha Onxayvieng, Director General of the Public Administration Research and Training Institute (PARTI), Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), Lao People’s Democratic Republic, visited South-Central University for Nationalities. Professor Li Jinlin, President of SCUN,met with the delegation at SCUN Academic Exchange Center and hosted the meeting. Professor Li Junjie, Vice President of SCUN and the leaders of School of Public Management, School of Continuing Education, School of Management, School of Education and International Affairs Office attended the meeting.
President Li Jinlin extended warm greetings and cordial welcome to the delegates and introduced to the delegates the basic situation of SCUN. He said that, Laos’ Public Administration Research and Training Institute conducts research and training on public administration and civil service management in Laos. At SCUN, the teaching work and academic research carried out by the Center for MPA at School of Public Management, the Center for Faculty Development at School of Education and the Training Center for Ethnic Administrators at the School of Continuing Education had quite a lot in common with PARTI. Therefore, SCUN and PARTI could explore collaborative potentials in those areas.
Director General Chantha Onxayvieng firstly expressed their heart-felt appreciation to SCUN. Then she made a detailed introduction of Lao PDR, Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) and Public Administration Research and Training Institute (PARTI). She sincerely hoped that PARTI and SCUN could establish cooperative and exchange relationship in the near future. And she would also help to promote cooperation between universities in Laos and SCUN.
During the meeting, an initial cooperation intention was reached. The two sides would like to develop faculty and students exchange, cooperation in training of ethnic minority administrators and other forms of educational and scientific activities of mutual interest and mutually agreed by the two sides. Also, SCUN welcomes international students from Laos to pursue Chinese language study or degree study on campus for either long-term or short-term.
After the meeting, the delegates visited SCUN’s School of Education, School of Public Management, International Student Dormitory and International Academic Conference Center.
