James Madison University Delegation Visit SCUN

From May 26 to 28, a delegation from JamesMadison University (JMU), headed by Dr. Jerry Benson, JMU’s Senior VicePresident for academic affairs and Provost, visited SCUN. On the morning of May27, Prof. DU Dongyun, SCUN Vice President, and the staff of InternationalAffairs Office met with the delegation at the Academic Exchange Center anddiscussed on cooperation programs.

Firstly, the two sides watched SCUN’spublicity video. Later, Prof. DU extended a welcome speech on behalf of SCUN’sfaculty and students. In his speech, he expressed appreciation to Dr. JerryBenson for JMU’s wonderful arrangements and hospitality to SCUN’s delegationduring their visit to JMU in August last year. He also hoped that twouniversities could work even more closely together to explore morecollaborative programs in mutual benefit of respective faculty and students.

Dr. Jerry Benson looked forward to theprospect of cooperation between JMU and SCUN. He also extended appreciation toProf. DU for SCUN’s continued support of CI project. He thought that JMU andSCUN had some similarities in vision and mission. He hoped that the twouniversities could keep working closely together to develop program of mutualinterests and benefits.

During the meeting, the two universitieslooked back on the cross-cultural program carried out in 2016 and fullyaffirmed the benefits and valuable experiences students got in the program.Besides the short term summer program, the two sides also discussed on studentexchange programs like “3+1+1 SCUN Bachelor Degree + JMU Master Degree Program”and “2+2” program, and faculty exchange programs.

James Madison University is a publiccoeducational research university located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, UnitedStates.
