On October 20th, the Office of National Philosophy and Social Sciences announced the list of the approved special projects for research into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities under the National Social Science Fund in 2020. 151 projects were approved nationwide, and maximum number of approved project of a unit is two. Two projects of SCUN were approved, and they are headed by Wan Liyong from School of Education and Li Chunyan from School of Marxism.
Launched in 2019 under National Social Sciences Fund and approved by the National Leading Group for Philosophy and Social Sciences, the National Social Science Fund Research Project on Ideological and Political Courses in Colleges and Universities is funded RMB 200,000 each for teachers and related researchers of ideological and political courses in colleges and universities across the country and political teachers of military academies. The special project aims at solve the problem of whom to train, how to train and for whom to train, implementing the fundamental task of cultivating people’s virtue, conducting research into the basic laws and major problems of ideological and political courses, promoting the reform and innovation of ideological and political courses, and constantly enhancing the ideological, theoretical, affinity and pertinence of ideological and political courses.
In the past two years, to carry out the organization and application of this special project, SCUN has adopted effective working method by thoroughly understanding the policies and grasping the laws. The Scientific Research Institute motivated key colleges and the colleges motivated key teachers. Based on the effective communication and cooperation among SCUN, colleges and teachers, early cultivation, mobilization, selection and demonstration have been conducted effectively.
