Recently, Wuhan’s 2020 Learning from Lei Feng Volunteer Service "Four Batches" Advanced Model Candidate List were announced. SCUN’s "Pomegranate Weaves Dreams- Chinese nation is a family, working Together to Build the Chinese Dream" Volunteer Service Project was elected as the "Wuhan Best Volunteer Service Project", and Ren Pengfei, a member of the postgraduate teaching team and a 2018-level postgraduate student majoring in Regional Economics in the School of Economics, was awarded the " Wuhan Most Beautiful Volunteer".
"Pomegranate Weaves Dreams- Chinese nation is a family, working Together to Build the Chinese Dream" volunteer service project has organized volunteers to carry out various volunteer service activities such as traditional culture promotion, youth education, left-behind children assistance, popular science promotion and emergency response to the community. The project has created an "Eight Service System" of team training professionalization, personnel composition socialization, operation management institutionalization, service project branding, activity development normalization, position construction substantiation, content design humanization, propaganda ideas productization, serving more than 40,000 residents and 20,000 students. The project selected more than 400 backbone volunteers to serve as 50 plus community administrative assistants, organized more than 20 "going to the community ethnic cultural performances", built 2 community picture books, 7 Tibet Plateau bookstores, and served 8000 plus minority student in 8 ethnic primary and secondary schools in Wuhan. During the epidemic, a total of more than 200 volunteers from 35 ethnic groups participated in anti-epidemic volunteer services in their local communities.
Ren Pengfei is always enthusiastic about public welfare, actively participating in various social practices and voluntary service activities. During his teaching support in Nedong District middle school, Shannan City, Tibet, he successively organized 70 plus public welfare activities such as "Plateau Bookstore", "Bangji Meido", and "PenPal Program", with an accumulated number of more than 5,000 beneficiaries. In 2019, he led 279 volunteers to complete the military games event services and was awarded as an outstanding volunteer. In 2020, he joined the Wuhan Anti-epidemic Volunteer Action, joining in data statistics, data compilation, and volunteer recruitment for Guanshan Street isolation point. His accumulated personal volunteer service hit up to 6,800 hours.
It is reported that 14 “most beautiful volunteers”, 16 “best volunteer service organizations”, and 21 “best volunteer service projects", 28 "most beautiful volunteer service communities" have been selected in Wuhan’s 2020 Annual Learning from Lei Feng Volunteer Service "Four Batches" Advanced Model Candidate Selection Campaign.
