A new chapter is to be opened by learning Party’s history and comprehending her original aspiration. Recently, the selection result of one hundred best speakers of “Students Lecture Room” of Hubei Province has been revealed. After steps including college recommendation, campus qualification competition and provincial competition, Zhou Xiang, a Class 2020 student from the Law School and a member of the “Light & Voice” Hosting Art Club of SCMU, was selected as a gold medal speaker at provincial level.

On March 16, the Youth League Committee of SCMU issued a “Notification on Continuously Deepening ‘Students Lecture Room’ among Group Learning Organizations of SCMU-- Learning, Publicizing and Implementing the Thoughts of Xi Jinping on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era”. Each college launched various activities such as college speech contests or sharing sessions or discussions around the key topics such as the spirit of 5th Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Committee and Party history learning. On May 9, the qualification final of excellent speakers for the “Students Lecture Room” of 2021 was held in SCMU. 16 young speakers from 11 colleges shared their understanding of Party history learning by looking back into the past and looking into the future and based on their own experience. On June 8, the intermediary heat of provincial-level excellent speakers for “Students Lecture Room” in 2021 & demonstrative speech tour was held in Hubei University. With a title of “Yan’an, a Permanent Spiritual Homeland”, Zhou Xiang shared his understanding of Yan’an Spirit, an entrepreneurial spirit of self-dependence and working hard, a spirit of seeking truth from facts and serving the people wholeheartedly, a spirit of linking theory with practice and keeping forging ahead.

Since 2015, taking the “Students Lecture Room” as a carrier, the Youth League Committee Hubei has promoted the Thoughts of Xi Jinping on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era to take root among the youthful students through a joint effort at three levels, “the province, the university and the college”. In 2021, 117 universities of Hubei Province participated in the selection event of excellent speakers of the “Students Lecture Room” and 20 students were selected as provincial gold medal speakers.
