On October 13th, the special meeting on the promotion of exhibition of innovation and entrepreneurship achievements and the construction of national mass entrepreneurship and innovation college was held in No.16 Teaching Building to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the university. Du Dongyun, vice president of the university; leaders of Experimental Teaching and Engineering Training Center and the entrepreneurship and innovation college; and persons in charge of mass entrepreneurship and innovation of all teaching units attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Lan Huarong, Party Secretary of the Experimental Teaching and Engineering Training Center and Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute.
At the meeting, Pan Zejiang, director of the Experimental Teaching and Engineering Training Center and dean of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute, introduced the strategic requirements of upgrading the innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities in his speech entitled "Entering the New Era of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Education in SCMZU". He analyzed the difficulties, focus points and strength points of the development of innovation and entrepreneurship education in SCMZU, and set the goal of leading the high-quality development of entrepreneurship and innovation education in China.
The situation of holding the exhibition of innovation and entrepreneurship achievements for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the university was introduced at the meeting. The exhibition would be held both offline and online from October 24th to November 24th, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute and 20 other teaching units would participate in the exhibition. The main contents of the exhibition are: the basic situation, characteristics and effectiveness of the university's innovation and entrepreneurship education, the integration of the college's thinking and creation, the integration of innovation and entrepreneurship education and ideological education, the integration of specialties and innovation and entrepreneurship education, and the integration of competition and innovation and entrepreneurship education; and the introduction of typical deeds and figures of innovation and entrepreneurship education. The offline exhibition will be held in the Academic Exchange Center, while the online tour exhibition will be held by the university’s official WeChat account for innovation and entrepreneurship, the WeChat account of all intitutes, and the WeChat account of the university.
Participants of the meeting had interchange of ideas on the topic. Opinions and suggestions from participating teaching units were solicited. Feedback on their questions was provided at the meeting.
Du Dongyun made a summary of the meeting, pointing out that it is necessary to understand the importance of deepening the innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in colleges and universities from the perspective of China’s implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, and it is important to do a good job in the implementation of innovation and entrepreneurship education since it is "an important affairs of the country and an important task of the university". He presented three demands for the innovation and entrepreneurship education work in SCMZU: first, improving understanding from the ideological perspective, realizing the importance of the work; second, strengthening study, improving ability and updating ideas, and each college should hold a special meeting to study and implement the work requirements and tasks proposed at the meeting; third, attaching great importance to the exhibition of achievements of the innovation and entrepreneurship education. He hoped that all colleges would cooperate with one another, be more proactive, shoulder due responsibilities, and make greater efforts to build the institute into a national-level innovation and entrepreneurship institute.
