Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education announced the list of the first batch of virtual teaching and research offices. The virtual teaching and research office of the accounting major, which is managed by Professor Zhai Huayun from the School of Management of SCMU, was selected into the list as a national-level virtual teaching and research office for professional construction. SCMU is one of the 10 colleges and universities in Hubei province that was approved by the Ministry of Education to build virtual teaching and research offices, and also one of the 5 virtual teaching and research offices for the accounting major in China.
To implement the plans for educational development in the "14th Five-Year Plan" and speed up the construction of virtual teaching and research offices, the Ministry of Education started the construction of the first batch of virtual teaching and research offices in 2021. Through the recommendation of colleges and universities of various cities and provinces and the teaching steering committees of the Ministry of Education and evaluation of experts, 439 virtual teaching and research offices have been selected into the list for pilot construction, including 237 offices for courses or courses groups, 137 for specialty construction and 65 for teaching research reform.
College of Management of SCMU attaches great importance to undergraduate education and the role of grass-roots teaching organizations including teaching and research offices and innovative teaching teams in fostering students’ virtue through education. In 2021, the grassroots organization of the interdisciplinary accounting curriculum group was selected for the construction of grassroots organizations of undergraduate universities in Hubei Province, and the interdisciplinary virtual teaching and research office for the accounting major was selected for the pilot construction of the university-level virtual teaching and research offices. Relying on the 2 key universities directly under the Ministry of Education, 6 universities for nationalities, the virtual teaching and research office for the accounting major of SCMU has integrated disciplines of ethnology, management, economics, statistics and computer science. Under the guidance of famous teachers and the construction of the national-level specialties and courses, the office is dedicated to the establishment of an online training base with an aim of innovating the mode of training intelligent talents in the accounting field and cultivating innovative, comprehensive and applied talents in the accounting field for China’s ethnic areas with "intelligence+accounting” and "data analysis+management accounting” as the main direction for talents training in the digital era.
