On April 1, Presidents’ Forum of Hubei-South Asia Universities and the Second Meeting of Hubei-South Asian College League, hosted by Department of Education of Hubei Province, was held in China Three Gorges University (CTGU) both online and offline. The forum was attended by Yu Xuemin, Deputy Director of the Department of Education, Zhang Jinan, Deputy Mayor of Yi Chang city, and 70 representatives from 11 Universities and institutions in China, and 18 in South Asia. Duan Chao, deputy president of SCMU, was invited to attend. He hosted a round-table meeting and delivered a keynote speech.

In his speech, Duan Chao pointed out that SCMU gives full play to its features and advantages to deepen its exchange and cooperation with South-Asian universities by seizing the opportunity of the Belt and Road Initiative. SCMU will deepen its cooperation in personnel training and scientific research so as to contribute to the education development in Hubei province in post-pandemic era.
Representatives have exchanged ideas concerning the topic of “corporation between Hubei and South-Asian universities: opportunities, challenges and countermeasures in post-pandemic era”. They shared experience and expressed willingness to further collaboration in education.
The forum aims at deepening corporation between Hubei and South Asian universities to build a stable and long-term educational exchange mechanism, by implementing the “Belt and Road” national education plan. It also aims to promote an all-round collaboration between Hubei and South Asian countries in culture, trade, tourism, manufacturing, etc.
