On March 17th, the opening ceremony of the Second Campus Job Fair for IT Graduates was held in the Optics Valley Concert Hall of SCMU. In order to fully implement the policies and plans on stabilizing and ensuring employment made by the Party Central Committee, the National Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Hubei Provincial Government, SCMU has built a recruitment platform with 76 high-quality enterprises both inside and outside Hubei Province, providing 2189 positions to students from all schools on campus, covering optical, computer engineering, artificial intelligence, big data, new energy, Internet, etc. The job fair lasts for two days, during which the opening ceremony and lectures on employment policy and enterprises recruitment of Huangshi City is held on the 17th, and the job fair is held on the 18th.
At the opening ceremony, Bian Jing, the Secretary of the Party Committee of SCMU delivered a speech. Bian said, “we hope this event will further deepen the exchanges and cooperation between the government and enterprises in talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation, industry-education integration and employment services, etc., so as to improve the quality of student training for school and send more outstanding talents to the local area and enterprises continuously.”

Li Jinlin, President of SCMU, awarded “Visiting Professor” and “Enterprise Mentor” to the representatives of enterprises. Vice President Du Dongyun awarded plaques of cooperative education base of Excellence Engineer “Enlightenment Plan” to corporations including Hubei Qingweilai Co., Ltd., Talent Center of Huangshi City, Wuhan Sunshine Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., Jinshan Software Co., Ltd., Beijing Siming Qichuang Co., Ltd., etc. Besides, Fan Bin, Vice Minister of Organization Department of Huangshi Municipal Party Committee, awarded Admission and Employment Department of SCMU with the plaque of “Talent Recruitment Station of Huangshi City”. Huang Shihua, Secretary and Director of Human Resources and Social Security of Huangshi City, granted the letter of appointment of “Campus Recruitment Ambassador” to Wu Zhaotong, Wang Weifang and Zhang Qingqin, who are the teachers of SCMU.
Representatives of enterprises including iFLYTEK, Jinshan Software, Everbright Bank have awarded plaques of “Campus-Enterprise Integration Base” and “Talent Training Base” to the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, School of Computer Science, and School of Mathematics and Statistics respectively, with the aim of further improving the policies and measures of talent training program, innovation and entrepreneurship, and precise support; and providing targeted visits for enterprises so as to construct a platform for enterprises recruitment and students employment .
“As long as you come to Huangshi city, you can pursue your passion and enjoy the life. Dear students, the most beautiful scenery of Huangshi is the talents, and the best future is waiting for you to experience!” Huang Shihua has warmly promoted Huangshi city during the opening ceremony. 10 enterprises from Huangshi city led by Huang participate in the job fair. In addition, the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, the School of Computer Science, and the School of Mathematics and Statistics respectively recommended 10 students to follow the Human Resources and Social Security of Huangshi City to experience enterprises activities before March 18th, promoting school’s further cooperation with enterprises and the local government.
“We will also optimize employment consulting services and strengthen the responsibility. Furthermore, we shall implement work plans effectively, striving to achieve the goals of employment with higher quality for the Class of 2023.” Han Yesheng, a member of Standing Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of SCMU, introduced the employment work during the opening ceremony.

It has been the second time for Hubei Qingweilai Technology Development Co., Ltd. to participated in the job fair. Ma Hongfei, the executive manager said, “in this job fair, SCMU has not only provided such an excellent platform, but also given us a valuable opportunity to present ourselves. The fair is indeed a practical measure of innovation and a promotion to the employment of college graduates.”
In 2022, SCMU signed a cooperation agreement with Wuhan Industrial Institute for Optoelectronics, the parent company of Qingweilai Technology Development Co., Ltd., which has led to great achievements in the integration of industry and education. Qingweilai Technology Development Co., Ltd. also plans to jointly launch a number of iconic brands work with the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, including the Supercomputer Innovation Experimental Class, and Excellent Engineer School of national level, which aims to build an innovative, application-oriented and compound talent training mode, and promote the construction of a collaborative model of education, selection, and employment between school and enterprises.

On the morning of the 18th, the job fair was crowded with job-seeking graduates, who came to the fair with their resumes, to have face-to-face communication with enterprises. “I’ve been looking for a job lately and attending job fairs organized by the school constantly. Just now, I had an interview with Wuhan Optics Valley ZOYON Science and Technology Co., Ltd. for a position of software development, which I think is suitable for me. ” Said Wang Meiyuan, a student of the Class of 2023 from the School of Biomedical Engineering.

“Before the fair, the school leaders shook hands with representatives of the enterprises and expressed their gratitude, which made us deeply moved,” said Wu Lan, the recruitment manager of Shenglong Electric Group Co., Ltd., “our company has a long-term cooperation with SCMU in campus recruitment, and we are very grateful to SCMU for providing such a platform for the communication between schools and enterprises, and exchange between enterprises and graduates.” In addition, recruitment manager of Huizhou Puyu Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. said, “the resumes we have received so far match us well, and we are very grateful to SCMU for providing us with the opportunity to communicate with the graduates on a two-way basis.”

“Font, typography, structure, and page layout of your resume are as important as your practical experience. What you are supposed to do is to impress the interviewer with your advantages.” said by Yao Gaoming, president of the Human Resource Managers Federation of Wuhan East Lake High-Tech Development Zone. Besides, an expert consultation stand was set for resume guidance and interview counseling. Experts and teachers, both inside and outside the campus, were invited to provide one-on-one services for students. Wang Jinhui, a student of the Class of 2023 from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, commented, “the resume guidance service is really considerate! I’ve learned a lot from their guidance.”
It is reported that SCMU also organized students from other classes to participate in the job fair, through which a special lesson for employment by directly contacting with the job market was given . Such a lesson could guide the young students to make plans early and establish a correct view of career choosing. Subsequently, SCMU will hold a series of job fairs, including the Hubei Joint Recruitment Fair, to promote the employment work of 2023.
