SCMU has achieved notable recognition with two of its teams being honored in significant youth practice initiatives. The School of Computer Science’s “Rural Creative Alliance” team was distinguished as a national exemplary team in the “2023 National Exemplary Teams for Rural Revitalization” by the Youth Development Department of the Communist Youth League’s Central Committee on July 14. Additionally, the College of Education’s “Walking with One Heart, Casting the Future” team garnered acclaim as a provincial model team in the “2023 Hubei Province Model Teams for Summer Volunteer Activities” announced by the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League on July 15.

The “Rural Creative Alliance” team has been active in regions like Datong (Qinghai), Enshi (Hubei), and Chengde (Hebei), making significant contributions to rural governance, industrial development, and environmental protection through their field investigations and social practices. Simultaneously, the “Walking with One Heart, Casting the Future” team undertook a cultural journey to Kashgar in Xinjiang. Their volunteer teaching, inspired by themes like the Silk Road and local cultures, has enriched the educational landscape for local students.

In 2023, SCMU’s commitment to social practice is stronger than ever, with over 2,700 students and 685 teams participating in the “Rural Outreach” summer activities. These students will gain invaluable grassroots experience, contributing to society while enhancing their own growth and learning. To further celebrate these efforts, SCMU’s Youth League Committee is set to launch the “Seeking the Beauty of China” column. This initiative will highlight the dynamic spirit of the youth through various social media platforms, including the official website and Weibo, showcasing their vibrant contributions to society.
