Two innovative projects from SCMZU have been spotlighted by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission as “2023 National Pilot Demonstration Projects for Inter-Ethnic Youth Exchange”. This prestigious recognition came on July 25th, highlighting SCMZU’s commitment to fostering inter-ethnic understanding and cooperation.

The first project, “Implementing the Guiding Principles of the 20th National Congress: A Youth Initiative”, builds on the successful strategies developed since the inception of the College Student Volunteer Service in Western China Program in 2003. This initiative aims to deepen ethnic interactions and enhance community awareness among minority groups. Through a mix of seminars, experience sharing, and field studies, the program injects new energy into economic and social development, strengthening national unity.

The second project, “One Chinese Nation, One Dream: Building Together”, focuses on themes like Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, fostering a shared national identity, and exploring various aspects such as red tourism and government internships. These activities encourage young people from diverse ethnic backgrounds to explore and appreciate the vastness of the motherland, contributing to the national rejuvenation and the realization of the Chinese dream.

The State Ethnic Affairs Commission's nationwide selection for the “2023 National Pilot and Demonstration Projects for Inter-Ethnic Youth Exchange” was highly competitive. From 170 nationwide submissions, only 41 were selected after thorough evaluation, with SCMZU’s projects standing out for their innovative approach to fostering ethnic unity and collaboration.
