On August 4, the 7th Future Computer Education Summit (FCES), organized by the China Computer Federation (CCF), took place in Hefei. The conference was chaired by Jiang Changjun, a CCF Fellow and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. For the first time, SCMZU hosted a sub-forum at a CCF conference. The sub-forum, titled “Cultivation Model of Information Technology Talents in Ethnic Minority-Focused Institutions”, was chaired by Qin Jun, Dean of the Graduate School.

The sub-forum’s agenda was comprehensive, focusing on enhancing the quality of computer talent education and fostering a strong sense of national community. Discussions covered various topics, including innovative models for talent cultivation, evaluation standards, the importance of interdisciplinary crossover, and the integration of industry and academia in education.

The seminar featured insights from a panel of distinguished experts: Weng Yu (Dean, School of Information Engineering, Minzu University for China), He Xiangzhen (Deputy Dean, China Institute of Ethnic Information Technology, Northwest Minzu University), Zhang Jianxin (Deputy Dean, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Dalian Minzu University), Chen Shiqiang (Executive Dean, School of Intelligent Science and Engineering, Hubei Minzu University), Yan Wei (Director of Kunpeng College Cooperation, Huawei’s Computing Product Line), and Tie Jun (Dean, School of Computer Science, South-Central Minzu University). Their discussions were instrumental in shaping strategies for advancing computer education in ethnic minority-focused colleges.

The CCF Future Computer Education Summit is a premier conference in the field of computer education, initiated by the China Computer Federation. This year’s summit, with its theme of “Developing High-Quality Curriculum Systems”, included 13 sub-forums. It attracted renowned scholars, leading figures from prominent companies, and influential experts from both domestic and international arenas, underscoring its significance in the field of computer education.
