At the Hubei Provincial College Athletics Meet, held from October 13th to 15th at Wuhan City Polytechnic, the SCMU track and field team showcased exceptional skill and determination. Competing against 1649 athletes from 53 colleges, the team triumphed with 2 golds, 3 silvers, and 2 bronzes, securing 5th place in the men’s group A, 8th in the women’s group A, and 6th in the overall group A standings. Additionally, they achieved 4th in the women’s group B and 7th in the overall group B.
Under the leadership of Hong Shengzhi, the Party Secretary of the School of Physical Education, and coach Gui Yongfeng, the 31-member team (15 in group A and 16 in group B) participated in 26 events. Their commendable performance led to 2 golds, 3 silvers, and 2 bronzes. Huang Zixiao won gold in both the men’s high jump and long jump in group A. Li Zhaohui claimed silver in the women’s 10000 meters in group B, and Zhou Xun secured silver in the women’s triple jump in group B. The women’s 4×100 meters relay team in group A, comprising Liu Xiaoting, Shu Shuangjie, Huang Yaofeng, and Wang Qi, also won silver. Additionally, Sheng Jiale earned bronze in the men’s 100 meters in group A, while Liu Zixia, Zuo Xinying, Mo Binglian, and Zhang Mi achieved bronze in the women’s 4×100 meters relay in group B.

Furthermore, the SCMU team obtained 8 fourth places, 5 fifth places, 3 sixth places, 5 seventh places, and 5 eighth places in events including the 100 meters hurdles, 400 meters hurdles, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 5000 meters, 4×400 meters relay, and triple jump. Impressively, group A athletes broke 6 SCMU records in events such as the men’s 4×100 meters relay (athletes: Yang Zhengyuan, Sheng Jiale, Ma Yingdong, Zheng Shuang), men’s 4×400 meters relay (athletes: Yang Zhengyuan, Zheng Shuang, Liu Yubo, Zhaori Gebatu), women’s 4×100 meters relay (athletes: Liu Xiaoting, Shu Shuangjie, Huang Yaofeng, Wang Qi), men’s 1500 meters (athlete: Zou Mingtao), men’s 400 meters (athlete: Zhaori Gebatu), and women’s 100 meters (athlete: Wang Qi).
