On the morning of April 20th, the donation ceremony for the “Fanghua Scholarship” was held at the Academic Exchange Center. The donor, Zhu Fangmeng, a 1990 biochemistry graduate from the former Department of Chemistry and current Chairman of Apeloa Pharmaceutical, attended along with President Li Jinlin, Vice Party Secretary Song Fajun who also serves as Council Member of the University Education Development Foundation, officials from relevant departments, and student representatives from beneficiary schools. The ceremony was hosted by Song Fajun.

During the ceremony, alumnus Zhu Fangmeng donated two million yuan to the University Education Development Foundation to establish “Fanghua Scholarship”. Song Fajun, representing the foundation, signed the donation agreement with Zhu and accepted the donation on behalf of the university. President Li Jinlin presented a donation certificate to Zhu Fangmeng.

The alumnus shared his story with the alma mater. Both he and his wife Tang Ting studied biochemistry and chemistry respectively at the university’s former Department of Chemistry, entering in 1990 and 1992. His father-in-law Tang Wen was also a political science student here in 1962. The three completed their undergraduate studies under the care and love of the university’s faculty, developing a deep affection for SCMU. Zhu hopes the “Fanghua Scholarship” will encourage and support hardworking students with excellent moral conduct and academic performance. He wishes for the establishment of this scholarship to further the development of the university’s education and contribute to cultivating more talented, ambitious youths with social responsibility.

On behalf of the university, President Li Jinlin expressed gratitude to Zhu Fangmeng and his family for their generosity and highly praised their gratitude to the alma mater and desire to give back to society. He stated that the university will uphold its original educational aspirations, remember its mission of nurturing talent, accelerate its development into a top-tier comprehensive university satisfying the people, and cultivate well-rounded socialist builders and successors with a sense of responsibility for the new era. He also hopes that every recipient will be grateful and strive to study hard and achieve success through their own efforts. Li urged relevant departments to use the donation funds strictly according to the Education Development Foundation’s charter and the donor’s intent to better support student growth and development.
