On October 1st, SCMU held a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event, themed “Our Youth, Our Responsibility in National Rejuvenation, took place at the Nanhu Central Stadium. Over 1,000 attendees gathered for the celebration, including key university officials such as Party Secretary Bian Jing, President Liu Yi, and Vice President Li Hongyan. Representatives from administrative departments, academic units, and the student body were also present.

The ceremony began at 7 AM with the honor guard marching in perfect formation, escorting the vibrant five-starred red flag to the flagpole. As the national anthem played, the flag was raised, with all attendees facing it in a solemn salute, expressing their heartfelt wishes for the nation.
Xing Mingzhu, a senior majoring in Visual Communication Design, School of Fine Arts, shared her experiences from five years of military service and four years of campus life in a speech. As a member of the university’s 27th volunteer teaching team for graduate students, she pledged to further strengthen her ideals and beliefs, enhance her capabilities, and boost her confidence to shoulder responsibilities for the country’s modernization.
The event reached its climax with a collective poetry recitation by the university’s art troupe, titled “SCMU Youth Report to the Motherland”. The performance highlighted the roles and contributions of SCMU alumni in national development, embodying the younger generation’s love for the country and their determination to contribute to its prosperity.
This flag-raising ceremony not only commemorated the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China but also served as a profound patriotic education experience. It further ignited the patriotic fervor and national pride among faculty and students, strengthening their resolve to strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
