Deputy Director of Hubei Administration of Sports Inspects SCMU’s Preparation for National Ethnic Minority Traditional Sports Games

On the morning of October 7th, Luo Qiyi, Deputy Director of Hubei Administration of Sports and Secretary-General of the 12th National Traditional Sports Games of Ethnic Minorities Organizing Committee, visited SCMU to inspect the preparation of the provincial ethnic fitness exercise and performance teams. Luo was accompanied by officials from provincial departments. SCMU Party Secretary Bian Jing and key leaders from the School of Physical Education participated in the visit.


The delegation visited the training grounds for ethnic fitness exercises and performances, inquiring about the athletes’ training progress, physical condition, and needs. They engaged in in-depth discussions with coaches Liu Xingchun and Zhang Jinming about daily training schedules, competition choreography, and team composition. After watching the athletes’ performances, the visitors expressed high praise for their skills.

In his address to the young athletes,Luo Qiyi emphasized the importance of embodying the spirit of sportsmanship, seizing opportunities, maintaining confidence, and giving their all to bring honor to the province and university. He stressed the need for strong teamwork, noting that seamless cooperation is crucial for success. Luo also encouraged the athletes to cultivate unwavering willpower to continually surpass their personal limits. Regarding training and competition preparation, Luo outlined several key requirements. He called for the development of a professional and systematic training approach for scientific preparation. He also stressed the importance of enhancing athletes’ physical conditioning and optimizing technical guidance. Additionally, Luo emphasized the need to ensure that training attire is suitable for the venue design and supplied promptly.


At the Party-building culture wall, Luo commended the School of Physical Education’s Party Committee for establishing a temporary Party branch for the provincial team. He encouraged them to strengthen Party leadership, unite the team, and foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation while training diligently for excellent results.


SCMU’s “Hubei Provincial Ethnic Minority Traditional Sports Training and Demonstration Base” has been entrusted by provincial authorities to form teams for the ethnic fitness exercise and performance events at the upcoming National Games. Over the past decade, the base has trained hundreds of athletes who have represented Hubei Province and Wuhan City in various national and provincial ethnic minority sports competitions, earning over 30 honors at different levels.
