On December 12, Song Fajun, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of SCMU, led a delegation to Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County, Hainan Province. The delegation included leaders and faculty from the Office of Student Recruitment and Employment, School of Continuing Education, and School of Chemistry and Materials Science. They conducted partnership discussions and launched the “Science Popularization Campus Tour” along with signing ceremonies for student recruitment bases. Over 400 participants attended, including Lv Yan, Deputy County Mayor of Baoting, and representatives from various local departments.

During the talks, Song Fajun expressed gratitude for Baoting’s contribution to SCMU’s student recruitment and outlined the university’s recent reforms and objectives. Lv Yan and Zhang Guoli, Principal of Baoting Middle School, acknowledged SCMU’s support and endorsed the collaborative activities.

Following the discussion, Shu Fuming, Director of the Office of Student Recruitment and Employment, signed an agreement establishing Baoting Middle School as a quality student recruitment base, with Song Fajun presenting the designation plaque. Ma Li, Party Secretary and Dean of the School of Continuing Education, discussed cadre training cooperation with local department representatives.

Professor Li Lin, Deputy Dean of the School of Chemistry and Materials Science, delivered a lecture titled “Carbon Neutrality and Catalysts” to students and teachers. She connected national technology and talent development strategies with scientific knowledge, encouraging students to align their career goals with national development initiatives. After the lecture, Song Fajun donated public welfare umbrellas to Baoting Middle School for use in common areas.

This visit followed an October delegation from Baoting led by Lin Hongbing, Standing Committee Member and Organization Department Head, who brought nearly 200 job opportunities to SCMU. During the visit, Song Fajun also met with alumni in Haikou, Baoting, and Sanya.

The “Science Popularization Campus Tour” initiative aims to strengthen connections with key source schools for student recruitment. This collaboration will expand into areas including talent development, recruitment promotion, alumni activities, and industry-academia partnerships, fostering resource sharing and mutual benefits.
