On the morning of June 10, the university held a ceremony at Building No.4 to announce the establishment of the School of Undergraduate Education and the appointment of its leadership. Liu Yi, University Deputy Party Secretary and President, and Qin Rui, Party Committee Standing Member and Vice President, and all staff members of the School of Undergraduate Education attended the meeting.

Liu Yi affirmed the achievements made in undergraduate education and teaching, undergraduate and preparatory admissions, and experimental teaching and engineering training in recent years. He pointed out that the School of Undergraduate Education should take on greater responsibility and make greater contributions as the university anchors its “Double First-Class” construction goals, mobilizing comprehensively and taking action to make new and greater contributions to the university’s development. He expressed expectations for the leadership team building and future work of the School of Undergraduate Education: First, to unify thinking and understanding, aligning thoughts and actions with the university Party committee’s decisions and deployments, and continuing to promote the spirit of unity, collaboration, and dedicated struggle. Second, to deepen theoretical grounding by continuously and thoroughly studying Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and constantly improving political judgment, political understanding, and political execution capabilities. Third, to dare to take responsibility and act, strengthening practical and responsible consciousness, and promoting the School of Undergraduate Education’s various work to achieve new accomplishments, demonstrate new momentum, and reach new levels. Fourth, to strictly observe discipline and rules, continuously strengthen work style construction, transform the results of work style building into practical actions that promote development, and achieve continuous improvement in the university’s undergraduate talent cultivation quality.

The School of Undergraduate Education integrates the relevant responsibilities of the former Academic Affairs Office (Teaching Quality Monitoring and Evaluation Center, Faculty Teaching Development Center), undergraduate and preparatory admissions from the Admissions and Employment Office, and the Experimental Teaching and Engineering Training Center. The establishment of the School of Undergraduate Education is an important measure for the university to further deepen reform and innovation, dedicated to serving the construction of an education powerhouse and talent cultivation. It has established a unified central hub for the “full chain” of undergraduate education that connects admissions, cultivation, management, and services, providing solid organizational support for a refined cultivation model centered on student development.
