On the morning of July 22, the final round of the 10th National Biomedical Engineering Innovation Design Competition for College Students concluded at China Western Science and Technology Innovation Port. Hosted by the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering (CSBE) and organized by Xi'an Jiaotong University, the event saw Zhu Jiaqi and other students from SCMU's School of Biomedical Engineering win first prizes. Our university achieved a historic milestone with 5 gold, 11 silver, and 19 bronze medals, maintaining its position among the top 10 institutions out of over 280 participating universities.
Clinical needs-oriented, the competition featured six independent tracks comprehensively covering key domains and cutting-edge directions in biomedical engineering, providing participants with extensive innovation opportunities. A record-breaking 15,000+ students from 4,200 teams across 280+ higher education institutions competed this year. After nearly three months of preliminary competitions, 35 out of over 70 registered teams from SCMU qualified for awards (19 earning third prizes) and 16 teams (12 undergraduate and 4 graduate teams) advanced to the Xi'an finals, securing first or second prizes.
