On the morning of August 8, South-Central Minzu University (SCMU) and Kashgar University jointly held the 2025 Summer Social Practice Summary Meeting and the Inauguration Ceremony of the "Practice Base for Promoting Mandarin to Assist Rural Revitalization" in Huangdi Township, Kashgar City. Attendees included Song Fajun, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of SCMU; Qin Jun, Dean of the Graduate School; Wei Dajiang, Party Secretary of the School of Electronics and Information Engineering (School of Robotics); relevant leaders from the Office of Employment and Alumni Affairs, the School of Computer Science (School of Artificial Intelligence), and the Department of Development Planning and Discipline Construction; Li Chengzhou, Deputy Party Secretary of Kashgar Municipal Committee; Niu Junzheng, Party Secretary of the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Kashgar University; Yu Jin, Secretary of the Kashgar Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League; and members of the SCMU social practice team "Language Nurtures the Borderlands, Digital Intelligence Empowers Progress," which promotes Mandarin to boost rural revitalization. At the symposium, Song Fajun expressed sincere gratitude to the Kashgar Municipal Party Committee and Government for their support and extended heartfelt greetings to all team members. He emphasized that the practice activity exemplifies SCMU’s commitment to "cultivating talents for the Party and the country," extending education beyond the classroom to serve rural revitalization with knowledge and action. SCMU will seize this opportunity to deepen cooperation with Kashgar City and Kashgar University, establish long-term mechanisms, and contribute intellectual resources to promote high-quality development in Kashgar, further supporting the Party’s strategy for Xinjiang in the new era.

During the meeting, practice team members reported on their month-long activities, including the "Red Scarf Small Classroom," "Mandarin Challenge," and "Science Bazaar." Students shared that the experience enhanced their understanding of rural Kashgar, improved their practical skills and sense of social responsibility, and strengthened their resolve to contribute to national development. They expressed eagerness to continue collaborating with Kashgar to support local progress.
After the event, Song Fajun and his delegation visited the Kashgar Aerospace Information Industrial Park, where they witnessed the signing and unveiling ceremonies for the "School-Enterprise Collaborative Talent Training Base" and "Postgraduate Workstation," established jointly by the School of Electronics and Information Engineering (School of Robotics) and Xinjiang Aerospace Information Technology Co., Ltd.

It is reported that the SCMU team embarked on the journey from Wuhan to Kashgar on July 3, traveling over 4,500 kilometers. The program was organized by the SCMU "Harmony and Unity" Counselor Studio and the School of Electronics and Information Engineering (School of Robotics), in collaboration with the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Kashgar University, with support from the SCMU Party Committee Student Affairs Department, the Youth League Committee, the School of Undergraduate Education (National Language Promotion Base of SCMU), and the Graduate School. Moving forward, students will be regularly selected to participate in practice activities in border regions.
