On the afternoon of November 15, the inaugural meeting of the Alumni Branch of the College of Resources and Environment at South-Central Minzu University (SCMU) was held at the Academic Exchange Center on campus. Song Fajun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of SCMU; Ke Zuntao, Director of the Office of Employment and Alumni Affairs; representatives of alumni from various sectors; Liu Ziyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Resources and Environment; Sun Jie, Dean of the College; as well as other members of the leadership team and representatives of teachers and students attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Liu Ziyuan introduced the preparation progress of the Alumni Branch of the College of Resources and Environment. All attending representatives jointly deliberated and voted to adopt the "Constitution of the Alumni Branch of the College of Resources and Environment" and finalized the list of relevant personnel for the Alumni Branch.

Sun Jie, President of the Alumni Branch of the College of Resources and Environment, delivered a speech. He proposed three aspirations for the development of the association to share with fellow alumni: first, using "affection" as the bond to make the association a "warm home"; second, using "career" as the bridge to make the association a "platform for growth"; and third, taking the "university" as the root to make the association a "link for giving back."

At the event, a special ceremony was held for the presentation of the "Dekang Alumni Grant". Zhang Jinglin, the benefactor of the grant, an alumnus from the 2001 Environmental Engineering program, and the General Manager of Shanghai Dekang Mingtai Technology Company, presented certificates to the recipients. Through his concrete actions, he fulfilled his alumni responsibilities and contributed to the development of talent cultivation in the college.

Three alumni representatives, Deng Can, Wang Pan, and Lan Jirong, delivered speeches respectively. They nostalgically recalled their youthful days at SCMU. They all expressed that the establishment of the Alumni Branch has built a bridge connecting friendships and sharing resources. In the future, they will join hands with a wide range of alumni to continuously contribute wisdom and strength to the development of their alma mater and the progress of the environmental protection cause.

Song Fajun delivered a concluding speech. On behalf of the university, he extended warm congratulations on the establishment of the Alumni Branch of the College of Resources and Environment and fully affirmed the remarkable achievements the school has made in recent years. He stated that alumni are the most precious asset and the strongest backing for both the university and the school. He hoped that the Alumni Branch of the College of Resources and Environment would continuously improve its work system, optimize its working mechanisms, and make genuine efforts in connecting with, uniting, promoting, and serving alumni, thereby building a bridge for interaction, mutual achievement, and common development between alumni and their alma mater. He also hoped that the vast number of alumni would maintain a deep connection with their alma mater and each other, exchange ideas through communication, forge friendships through cooperation, and transform the Alumni Branch into a warm haven where everyone can share memories and create a future together, jointly contributing the wisdom and strength of resources and environmental professionals to the beloved green mountains and clear waters.
