On July 23, the national finals of the 6th National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers, guided by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and hosted by the China Association of Higher Education, concluded at Nanjing University.Professor Han Xiaolei from SCMU won the First‑Class Prize in the Professor‑rank Group for Basic Courses. Professor Wang Xian, Associate Professor Tian Yuanzi and Associate Professor Ai Yong received Third‑Class Prizes respectively in the Professor‑rank Group for Curriculum‑based Ideological and Political Education, the Associate‑Professor‑rank Group for New Liberal Arts, and the Associate‑Professor‑rank Group for New Engineering. The university was awarded the Excellent Organization Award for provincial‑level contests. These results mark the best‑ever performance of SCMU in this competition and represent a new breakthrough for universities affiliated with the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.

Since the launch of the contest,SCMU leaders have attached great importance to competition preparation and organized multiple special seminars. Led by the Undergraduate School,SCMU has carefully carried out institutional selection, expert‑guided lesson polishing and mock rehearsals. Participating teachers devoted themselves to research and repeatedly refined their teaching innovation proposals. Drawing on solid professional competence, they advanced to the on‑site national final review, demonstrating remarkable outcomes of SCMU’s sustained efforts to deepen undergraduate teaching reform and improve faculty teaching capabilities.

As is known, the National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers ranks among China’s highest‑profile and most wide‑reaching national‑level teaching events in higher education. This edition proceeded through three phases: institutional contests, provincial contests and national finals. Following rigorous online evaluation at the national‑final stage, 699 courses involving 2,697 teachers (including team members) qualified for on‑site national review. The contest finally conferred 104 First‑Class Prizes, 247 Second‑Class Prizes and 348 Third‑Class Prizes, showcasing cutting‑edge achievements in teaching innovation among universities in the new era.
