On September 1, the Department of Education of Hubei Province announced the list of approved provincial-level ideological and political education projects for undergraduate courses in Hubei for 2026. SCMU had eight courses approved as provincial-level outstanding ideological and political education courses for undergraduates and four cases approved as provincial-level outstanding teaching cases for ideological and political education in undergraduate courses. All 12 projects recommended by SCMU were selected.

The approved projects cover multiple disciplines, including science, law, economics, management, and medicine, and include various types of courses, such as general foundational courses, professional education courses, and compulsory professional foundation courses. The approved courses and cases involve active exploration and innovation in the design of course syllabi, the preparation of lesson plans and teaching materials, and the identification and integration of ideological and political elements. They emphasize reform of teaching models, with teaching content reflecting ideological depth, cutting-edge nature, and contemporary relevance, and teaching methods demonstrating advancement, interactivity, and targeted application. These projects have produced replicable and scalable experience and outcomes.

In recent years, SCMU has thoroughly implemented theGuidelines for the Development of CurriculumIdeological and Political Education in Higher Education Institutionsand theNotice on Further Advancing CurriculumIdeological and Political Education Development in Higher Education Institutionsissued by the Ministry of Education, as well as relevant documents of Hubei Province. SCMU attaches great importance to the development of curriculumideological and political education and closely follows the central theme of "strengthening students' ideals and convictions and educating them to love the Party, the country, socialism, the people, and the collective". It integrates value formation, knowledge impartation, and competency development, and promotes the close integration of professional education and ideological and political education. Taking the project approval as an opportunity, SCMU will continue to deepen reform in curriculum ideological and political education and teaching, fully leverage the exemplary and guiding role of outstanding courses and teaching cases, encourage faculty members to further strengthen their awareness of curriculum ideological and political education and improve their capacity to develop it, comprehensively advance high-quality development in this area, and cultivate a new generation capable of shouldering the mission of national rejuvenation.
