Team of Mr. Shao Dawei Won Second Prize of the 6th Self-made Experimental Teaching Equipment Innovation Competition of National College Teachers

From May 21 to 23, the 6th Self-made Experimental Teaching Equipment Innovation Competition of National College Teachers was held in Qingdao Shandong, and SCMZU’s team of young teacher Mr. Shao Dawei won the second prize of free design with their work of “Chronological Maps of Tang and Song Literature”.


The Self-made Experimental Teaching Equipment Innovation Competition of National College Teachers was sponsored by Chinese Association of Higher Education from 2008, held in every two years, with the aim of cultivating the potential of designing and developing exploratory experiments by college teachers, encouraging teachers to design and make teaching equipment and device according to teaching needs, and displaying representative self-made experimental teaching equipment in universities. The products of the first five competitions mainly focused in disciplines such as science, industry, agriculture, and medicine, while the competition this year covered the projects of comprehensive liberal art. After online preliminary contest, 351 works from more than 140 universities entered on-site final contest, including only 6 projects of comprehensive liberal art.


This competition set up two categories including free design and designated design by enterprises, wherein there were 13 first prizes, 40 second prizes, and 73 third prizes of free design. Since the initiation of the competition, SCMZU teachers have been actively participated in it. The works of teams led by Ms. Xu Meng from College of Resources and Environmental Science, Mr. Zhu Zongxiao from the School of Computer Science, and Mr. Shao Dawei from School of Literature, Journalism and Communication entered final contest.

“Chronological Maps of Tang and Song Literature” is one of project results of “Construction of Information Platform for Literature Chronicle in Tang and Song Dynasties”, the Major Project of National Social Science Foundation of China, hosted by Professor Wang Zhaopeng from School of Literature, Journalism and Communication of SCMZU. As the person in charge of the subproject, Mr. Shao Dawei was deeply involved in data modeling, data acquisition and platform development of the project. He also applied the “literature map” in class teaching combining his teaching experience, which obtained excellent effect.
