Recently, the award ceremony of the 6th National Outstanding Achievements Award for Educational Scientific Research and the 2021 China Educational Science Forum were held in Beijing. Dr. Wei Licai, a young teacher of School of Education of SCMU, won the third prize with his research paper "Research on the Direction of the Flow of Young Science and Engineering Talents Returning Home from Abroad and Its Influencing Factors".
This paper analyzes the direction of the flow of young science and engineering talents returning home from abroad and its influencing factors. The research shows that the direction of their flow is sparsely distributed among regions and concentrated in certain universities. The influencing factors are various, including university level, salary, city level, and per capita research funds. A number of factors that significantly affect the flow of talents are closely related to academic research. The paper can provide important frames of reference for the optimization of the distribution of talents in colleges and universities in China.
The National Outstanding Achievements Award for Educational Scientific Research was established in 1990, and is selected every five years, with the outstanding achievements in the major theoretical and practical issues of educational reform and development in China as the focus. In this year’s selection, a total of 344 prizes were awarded, including 26 first prizes, 119 second prizes and 199 third prizes.
