Having made significant research progress in the field of agricultural supply chain management, Professor Zhao Xiaofei from the School of Management was awarded the 2022 International Academic Best Researcher in July by Sciencefather, an international academic organization. Through nomination by experts and multiple rounds of evaluation by the jury, the award is granted to scholars who have made contributions and achievements in innovative research.
In recent years, the operations and supply chain management team led by Prof. Zhao Xiaofei has gained a series of research results in fields of agricultural supply chain management, digital transformation and agricultural e-commerce, whose academic paper The effects of agro-food supply chain integration on product quality and financial performance: Evidence from Chinese agro-food processing business and The impact of reference effects on online purchase intention of agricultural products: The moderating role of consumers’ food safety consciousness were respectively published in International Journal of Production Economics, a top international journal in the field of operation management, and Internet Research, a well-known journal in the field of information system. Up to now, the paper has been cited 105 times by authoritative journals such as supply chain management and operation management. The framework and mechanism of agricultural products supply chain integration and the innovation strategy of agricultural products marketing in the context of networking proposed in the paper have drawn high attention from the international academic community and have exerted good international influence, for which Prof. Zhao has been invited to serve as a reviewer and academic editor for several international journals.
Prof. Zhao was selected to the Young and Middle-aged Talent Cultivation Program of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission in 2018. In 2020, he was elected as an expert of the applied think tank of the CPPCC of Hubei Province. He is currently an expert of the National Social Science Foundation for the final appraisal, a director of Hubei Rural Soft Science Research Association, and an external reviewer of journals such as Nankai Management Review, Electronic Commerce Research (SSCI), etc. With more than 30 papers, an academic monograph and an academic co-authorship (selected in the National Library of Philosophical and Social Science Achievements) published, he has as well presided over two National Social Science Foundations, one Humanities and Social Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education, and eight provincial and ministerial level projects.
Prof. Zhao has won a number of awards, including the National Business Development Research Achievement Award, Hubei Provincial Development Research Award, the Hubei Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award three times, and the Wuhan Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award twice. Research reports that he authored or co-authored have been adopted by Hubei Provincial Department of Agriculture, and Hubei Provincial Department of Commerce.
