School of Community for the Chinese Nation Advances Interdisciplinary Studies and Textbook Development

On the morning of February 18, the School of Community for the Chinese Nation held an argumentation meeting on interdisciplinary studies ofCommunity for the Chinese Nationat North Academy, advancing the pilot application for interdisciplinary studies. Qin Jun, Dean of the Graduate School; Tao Xihong, Dean of the School of Literature, Journalism and Communication; Chen Xiangjun, Dean of the School of Ethnology and Sociology; Wan Liyong, Dean of the School of Education; Yu Guanghui, Dean of the School of Life Sciences; Fu Haiyan, Dean of the School of Pharmacy; and all members of the School ofCommunity for the Chinese Nationleadership team attended the meeting, which was chaired by Qin Jun.

During the meeting, Qin Jun emphasized the importance and urgency of developing interdisciplinary studies onCommunity for the Chinese Nation, noting that it relates to the implementation of the main thread of consolidating a sense of community for the Chinese nation, to the university’s new round of “Double First-Class” initiative, and to improving the quality and efficiency of the university’s disciplines. Li Conghao, Dean of the School of Community for the Chinese Nation, reported on the preliminary preparation, current situation, and future plans for interdisciplinary studies onCommunity for the Chinese Nation, and raised concerns and challenges in interdisciplinary development. The five participating deans offered suggestions for interdisciplinary integration from their respective disciplinary perspectives, providing diverse approaches for the development of interdisciplinary studies onCommunity for the Chinese Nation. This argumentation meeting clarified key issues such as disciplinary positioning, theoretical framework, and research directions, providing references for the subsequent development of Community for the Chinese Nation studies.


During the 2025 winter break, the School of Community for the Chinese Nation closely focused on national strategic needs and continued to advance research and discipline development in Community for the Chinese Nation. The college organized a core faculty team to compile the textbook “Introduction to Marxist Ethnic Theory and Policy” while continuously improving lecture notes for 12 newly developed courses, which have so far resulted in preliminary outcomes totaling over 2 million words.
