Professor Zhang Zehui Elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry

On January 21, Professor Zhang Zehui from the School of Chemistry and Materials Science was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC).

Founded in 1841, the Royal Society of Chemistry is the world’s oldest chemical academic institution and one of the most influential organizations in the international chemistry community. The Royal Society of Chemistry is dedicated to promoting the development of the entire chemical science industry and society, advancing the application of chemical sciences, and annually selects researchers who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in chemistry research and made exceptional contributions to the development of chemical sciences from the UK and internationally as its Fellows. Its Fellows include nearly 80 Nobel Prize winners.


Professor Zhang Zehui is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, principal investigator of National Key Research and Development Program Strategic Priority Projects, recipient ofFok Ying Tung Education Foundation Young Teacher Award supported by the Ministry of Education, recipient of the Hubei Province Outstanding Young Scientists Fund, recipient of the first Young Catalyst Award in the Central China region, a highly cited author recognized by the Royal Society, and has been included in the list of the world’s top 2% scientists. Professor Zhang primarily focuses on biomass energy chemistry research and has published over 120 SCI papers as corresponding author in journals including Science Advances, Nature Communications, Chem, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Advanced Materials, and Chemical Society Reviews. He has co-edited one monograph and been granted over 20 national invention patents. His research achievements have won the Hubei Province Natural Science Award, Liaoning Province Natural Science Award, Dalian City Technology Invention Award, and others.
