On July 24, the first batch of courses for the "Smart Courses Xinjiang Initiative" was announced. Three courses submitted by our university - Principles of Operating Systems, Physical Chemistry, and Labor and Social Security Law - passed the review and were successfully launched on the Xinjiang Higher Education Online Alliance platform. As the only selected higher education institution from Hubei Province, SCMU contributes its high-quality educational resources and innovative smart education practices, injecting "SCMU strength" into promoting east-west higher education collaboration and advancing the national education digitalization strategy.

The "Smart Courses Xinjiang Initiative" constitutes a key component of the Ministry of Education's "MOOC Westward Plan 2.0", aiming to establish a new course-sharing ecosystem featuring "eastern leadership and western collaboration" through digital-intelligent platforms. All three selected courses from our university have completed at least one full teaching cycle on the Chaoxing Fanya platform, equipped with comprehensive knowledge graphs and AI-powered smart teaching support systems. These courses will be available for enrollment across Xinjiang's higher education institutions and will facilitate cross-institutional virtual teaching-research activities, implementing the "co-construction, co-evaluation, and sharing" educational collaboration mechanism.

As a higher education institution directly administered by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, SCMU has made significant strides in smart education, establishing a comprehensive digital teaching system centered on "AI + Education." The university's smart education platform has now fully integrated the DeepSeek-R1 large language model, adding 35 innovative teaching and auxiliary tools including AI teaching assistants, problem-solving assistants, video analysis, and document comprehension capabilities. This integration has transformed the online teaching platform into a more robust system that seamlessly covers the entire teaching process - from intelligent pre-class planning and real-time in-class interaction to precise post-class learning analytics. The selected courses leverage this advanced platform's capabilities, utilizing knowledge graphs and intelligent diagnostic technologies to precisely align with students' learning needs while fostering deep integration between course content and local requirements.

Heads of relevant departments emphasized that this course launch represents a continuation of SCMU's substantial collaboration with Xinjiang’ higher education institutions. Through this course-sharing initiative, the university will continue exploring effective approaches to empower western China's development through educational digitalization, contributing practical experience toward building an educational ecosystem featuring "complementary advantages and collaborative innovation" between eastern and western Chinese universities.
