On August 27th, the review results for the 2025 National Natural Science Foundation centralized application period projects were officially announced. Our university secured funding for a total of 28 projects. These include 15 General Program projects and 13 Young Scientists Fund (Category C) projects, with approved direct funding reaching RMB 11.37 million. Both the number of approved projects and the total funding amount hit a four-year high, and the total project count ranks first among universities affiliated with our governing commission.

In recent years, the university has consistently adhered to the "Four Orientations" guideline (i.e., to face the world's technological frontiers, to face the main economic battlegrounds, to face the major needs of the country, and to face the people's lives and health), prioritizing the work related to the National Natural Science Foundation and strengthening its leading role in basic research, discipline construction, and the cultivation of scientific and technological talent. Under the strong leadership of the University Party Committee and Administration, our university has deeply implemented the "National Natural Science Foundation Doubling Plan," establishing a comprehensive funding and cultivation system that covers application support, sustained support, and follow-up support, thereby comprehensively enhancing the cultivation efforts for NSFC projects. Concurrently, the application and approval status of these grants have been incorporated into the school/department assessment system with increased weighting, effectively mobilizing the enthusiasm of various schools and faculty members. Furthermore, by accurately assessing the university's scientific research capabilities, the university has solidly advanced the principle of "serving every individual researcher and ensuring policies are fully implemented," striving to achieve "comprehensive application where appropriate." The coordinated efforts of these multiple measures have effectively boosted the quality and efficiency of the Foundation-related work, continuously driving the high-quality development of the university's scientific and technological endeavors.

It is reported that the university will continue to deepen the "National Natural Science Foundation Doubling Plan," strengthen the construction of high-level scientific research teams, further solidify basic research, systematically advance organized scientific research, and strive to produce more major landmark achievements, providing solid support for the university's transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development.
