On May 18, the National Center for Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation (NCPSSD) released theNCPSSD Achievement Report (2016-2026)and theNCPSSD Most Popular Journal Report (2025). The Journal of SCMU (Humanities and Social Sciences Edition) was honored with the title of “NCPSSD Most Popular University Journal of 2025”, with a popularity index of 0.1247. It ranked 19thamong 289 university journals and was the only journal from Hubei Province to make the list.
TheNCPSSD Most Popular Journal Report (2025)is based on platform usage data, employing objective statistical indicators and methods to analyze the reading and download counts of each journal. The report aims to provide valuable data reference for philosophy and social sciences scholars and journal publishers, thereby supporting the high-quality development of academic journals in China.
It is also reported that on April 18, the Book and Newspaper Information Center of Renmin University of China officially released theSelected Materials Reprinting Index Research Report (2025). In 2025, 15 articles from the Journal of SCMU (Humanities and Social Sciences Edition) were reprinted in full by China Social Science Excellence. Among 387 comprehensive journals in the humanities and social sciences, the Journal ranked 65thin reprint volume and 89thin comprehensive index. Among 323 humanities and social sciences journals sponsored by higher education institutions, it ranked 31st in reprint volume and 53rdin comprehensive index. Among 115 journals in the field of Chinese Communist Party history and Party building, it ranked 3rdin reprint volume.
According to theSearch Reportfrom the Chinese Social Sciences Reprint Information Retrieval Center of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, a total of 26 articles from the Journal of SCMU (Humanities and Social Sciences Edition) were reprinted or abstracted by major journals in 2025. These included 5 articles byXinhua Digest, 1 byChinese Social Sciences Digest, 2 byChina University Academic Abstracts, 1 bySocial Sciences Digest, 15 by China Social Science Excellence, and 2 byJournal of Peking University (Journal Overview). It ranked 2ndamong journals in the Nanjing University CSSCI Ethnology and Cultural Studies category, the Peking University Ethnology category, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences AMI Ethnology and Cultural Studies category, and among all journals of national ethnic universities. It also ranked 13thamong journals in Hubei Province (including specialized journals).
