Recently, the National Copyright Administration announced the list of the winners of the 13th National University Students' Copyright Essay Competition. Teachers and students of Law School of SCMZU made remarkable achievements in this activity. 6 undergraduates and 1 graduate student won the second and third prizes and excellent prizes. In addition, the university won the Excellent Organization Award, and Associate Professor Yang Fan won the Excellent Instructor Award.

The National College Students' Copyright Essay Competition was first held in 2008, and it is the highest-level competition in China's copyright field for college students sponsored by the National Copyright Administration, an important part of the annual publicity and education on copyright by the National Copyright Administration, and a national platform for training copyright talents. Since 2016, teachers and students of Law School of SCMZU have won a total of 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 11 third prizes and more than 10 excellent prizes in this competition.
