Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Training Class Held by SCMZU

The university infirmary invited the team of experts from Hubei Provincial Hospital of TCM to give a two-day TCM-related training for its medical staff. The purpose of the training is to implement the spirits of relevant documents launched by the State Administration of TCM, push forward the promotion of TCM technology and offer better health-care services for all students and staff.


The training class was held in the morning of July 6th. Head of the infirmary Gong Yan chaired the opening ceremony and gave a speech. She claimed that this training served as a fundamental project of organizing and establishing a disease prevention department of TCM for the infirmary. Every employee was expected to learn from the class and improve his theoretical understandings of TCM and practical skills, so as to offer all the students, teachers and residents in community better medical services.


During the training, Director Zhou Feng from the Health Management Center of Hubei Provincial Hospital of TCM gave a systematical explanation of two common treatments in the disease prevention, namely moxibustion and scraping therapy. She demonstrated and instructed on the spot patiently and thoroughly.

In the afternoon of July 6th, General Practitioner Liu Chuan explained the theory and practice of auricular therapy. She gave a detailed interpretation of holograms involving auricle and organs in human’s body, different positions of tragus points and so forth. Her on-site demonstration of auricular therapy for common diseases produced a quick efficacy, amazed by trainees.


In the morning of the following day, trainees studied regimen knowledge and practical skills of TCM, which attracted a number of students and teacher patients. Guided by experts, trainees provided patients with TCM treatment and services, which received wide praises.


Later, focusing on teaching staff’s health problems, experts offer a health lecture and consultation. Participants took the opportunity to experience such TCM therapies as scraping, auricular point, massage and moxibustion. They marveled at the magic of TCM.

This activity was highly valued by the school Party committee. Bian Jing, Secretary of SCMZU Party committee, visited the experts and medical staff, and encouraged them to organize more training classes so as to improve the medical treatment and offer students and teachers better medical services.
