SCMU Training Camp of The First National Engineering Practice and Innovation Competition for College Students Began

On March 1, the opening ceremony of SCMU training camp of the First National Engineering Practice and Innovation Competition for College Students was held on campus. Tong Xingsheng, the former member of the National Mechanical Engineering Teaching Steering Committee and the distinguished professor of SCMU, directors, teachers and students representatives from the Experimental Teaching and Engineering Training Center, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and School of Computer Science, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by He Jun, Deputy Director and Vice Dean of the Experimental Teaching and Engineering Training Center, and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Lan Huarong, Secretary of Party Branch of the Experimental Teaching and Engineering Training Center and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, announced the official opening of the Training Camp. Pan Zejiang, Director of the Experimental Teaching and Engineering Training Center and Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, said in his opening speech that the aim of the training camp is to cultivate engineers with the adapting ability to the needs of social development, serve the innovation-driven development and manufacturing strategy, and reinforce the awareness of engineering ethics. He stressed that it is needed to adhere to the basic innovation, combine the theory and practice, science and liberal arts, and knowledge of different disciplines. He hoped that all team members would work together in the face of challenges and achieve outstanding performances in the competition.


Professor Tong Xingsheng gave a report entitled “Preparing for the Competition and Enhancing Practical Innovation Ability”, in which he not only systematically explained the plan of the competition through the analysis of the origin and characteristics of the competition, but also provided valuable suggestions and guidance on the preparatory work for SCMZU’s innovation competition.


Zhu Zongxiao, a teacher of the School of Computer Science, reported on the preparation of the project of intelligent logistics. Tian Wei, Vice Dean of the School of Computer Science, made arrangements for the training camp from three aspects, which are organizational structure, staff composition and work plans.
