The SCMU men’s soccer team has secured the second prize in the 2nd National “Pomegranate Seeds” Cup University Football Tournament, held from August 14-23 at Minzu University of China in Beijing. The event, guided by the Education Department of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission and supported by the China Football Development Foundation, saw participation from 16 universities across the country.
Led by Vice President Song Fajun and coached by Fan Yi from the School of Physical Education, who was honored as an "Outstanding Coach," the SCMU team showcased exceptional teamwork and determination throughout the competition. The 18-member squad underwent intensive training for over a month prior to the tournament, demonstrating the university’s commitment to sports education.

The tournament featured teams from prestigious institutions including Minzu University of China, Southwest Minzu University, and Guangxi University, among others. SCMU’s performance not only embodied the spirit of the competition but also highlighted the university’s achievements in physical education.
This accomplishment serves as a testament to SCMU’s dedication to fostering both academic excellence and athletic prowess among its students.
