During the event, Professor Xu Jing’s team from the School of Fine Arts brought abundant weaving materials and thoughtfully designed lessons, showcasing representative patterns from Chinese traditional culture. The pomegranate paper-cutting pattern held special significance, emphasizing the cultural theme that “a single pomegranate reflects unity of hearts, as ethnic groups advance in harmony” This symbol helped plant seeds of unity and harmony in the children’s hearts, guiding them on a fascinating journey into traditional Chinese ethnic culture.

University students from the School of Fine Arts worked closely with the elementary school children, providing step-by-step instruction and demonstrations of handweaving techniques. The young students eagerly took up looms and colorful yarn, immersing themselves in the creative process. Some children worked independently, absorbed in their weaving, while others gathered in small groups to share insights and exchange creative ideas. The venue was filled with laughter and a rich artistic atmosphere. The beautiful handcrafted works complemented the children’s bright smiles, painting a lovely picture of artistic engagement and joy.

These efforts will enable the public to experience the profound depth of Chinese traditional culture through active participation.
