From November 21st to 22nd, SCMU’s Party Committee Standing Member and Vice Presidents Li Hongyan and Qin Rui led teams to inspect key areas of the campus for potential safety hazards. They were accompanied by heads of the Student Affairs Department, Security Department, State-Owned Assets and Laboratory Management Office, and Logistics Department.
Li Hongyan’s team visited student dormitories, the gymnasium, and the cafeteria. They focused on checking fire safety equipment, emergency escape routes, environmental safety, hygiene, and inspection records in dormitories; safety measures and emergency protocols in the gymnasium; and staff management, food hygiene, and storage in the cafeteria. Li Hongyan emphasized the importance of maintaining a constant sense of responsibility for campus safety, urging the practice of “daily self-checks, weekly consultations, and monthly inspections” to ensure campus stability.
Qin Rui’s team inspected the School of Pharmacy, the School of Chemistry and Materials Science laboratories, and outsourced shops. They reviewed water and electricity usage, equipment and hazardous materials management, waste disposal, and fire safety in laboratories, as well as electrical wiring, fire equipment, and evacuation routes in shops. Qin Rui stressed the need for enhanced safety education and training for staff and students to improve awareness and operational skills, ensuring the continuous safe operation of all university laboratories.
This safety inspection is a key component of the university’s Fall Campus Safety Month. Relevant departments will categorize and summarize the issues identified, assign responsibility, and set deadlines for rectification to effectively enhance campus safety measures.
