The team was dedicated to combining Mandarin promotion with educational charity work, partnering with multiple organizations including the Dushan County Disadvantaged Children Care Association, Yi Jia Social Work Service Center, Youth Volunteer Federation, and Zhonghua Community Residents Committee. During the activities, team members taught over 120 classes to more than 100 students across three locations: Wengqi Village in Baiquan Town, Zhonghua Community, and Jingqiao Community. In the classroom, the team organized a series of innovative Mandarin promotion activities including standard Mandarin recitation contests, drawing and guessing games, and introducing Beijing Opera facial makeup into the curriculum, bringing new experiences to local students. Beyond classroom teaching, team members took the children to visit the Dushan County Fire and Rescue Brigade, popularizing fire safety knowledge.
The 2024 “Promoting Mandarin to Support Rural Revitalization” National College Students’ Summer Social Practice Volunteer Service attracted more than 70,000 teachers and students from 6,998 teams across 1,452 universities. After expert review, 1,200 teams were selected, from which 240 teams were chosen as National Outstanding Mandarin Promotion Practice Teams.
