On the morning of July 6, the 19th Commencement Ceremony and Degree Conferment for the Master's Program in English Education, jointly offered by South-Central Minzu University and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, was held at the Academic Exchange Center. Attendees included Fang Debin, Vice President and Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee; David Gillota, Associate Provost of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville; Professor Yuanyuan Hu, Program Coordinator; and representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
At the ceremony, Fang Debin extended warm congratulations to the 34 graduates. He encouraged them to uphold the university motto, devote themselves to education with dedication and perseverance, integrate their academic learning with teaching practice, demonstrate professional competence in the classroom, and explore new directions in educational research and innovation. He emphasized their mission as educators to guide students with sincerity, patience and wisdom, passing on the transformative power of education through their daily efforts.
David Gillota highly praised the achievements of the joint program and expressed gratitude for SCMU's long-term support. He stated that the University of Wisconsin-Platteville remains committed to strengthening this Sino-foreign cooperative education program to cultivate more outstanding English teachers and professionals in the field of English education.

Since establishing their partnership in 2001, South-Central Minzu University and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville have developed comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in various areas including faculty/student exchanges, joint operation of a Confucius Institute, Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, and academic exchanges. These collaborative efforts have made positive contributions to promoting China-U.S. people-to-people exchanges and educational cooperation.
Notably, their jointly offered Master's Program in English Education has achieved remarkable success, having cultivated 523 graduates through 19 cohorts to date, serving as a significant milestone in the two universities' educational collaboration.
