On the morning of July 7, the Summer Training Program for Cambodian Chinese Language Teachers, hosted by our university, officially commenced. The opening ceremony was attended by Fang Debin, Vice President and Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee; representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Literature, Journalism & Communication; and 10 Chinese language teachers from Cambodia's Duanhua School. The ceremony was presided over by Sun Xiaoli, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.

At the ceremony, Fang Debin extended a warm welcome to the Cambodian teachers. He emphasized that the international promotion of Chinese language facilitates cultural exchanges between China and Cambodia, enhances mutual understanding between the two peoples, and serves as a concrete practice in building an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future for the new era. Noting the existing friendly cooperation in Chinese language education between South-Central Minzu University and Duanhua School, he expressed hope that the participants would cherish this learning opportunity to improve their teaching skills, gain deeper understanding of Chinese culture, and become youthful ambassadors enhancing the friendship between the two nations.

This training program aims to enhance Chinese language instruction and strengthen the faculty development of local Chinese teachers at Duanhua School. The curriculum covers Chinese language expertise, teaching methodologies and techniques, as well as Chinese culture, combining academic learning with cultural exchange to comprehensively improve participants' professional theoretical knowledge and practical teaching skills. The Cambodian teachers expressed their commitment to applying what they learn to actual teaching practice and advancing the localized development of Chinese language education.

This program has been approved by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of China's Ministry of Education as a four-week International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Study Program.
