SCMU and UFBA Sign Cooperation Agreement

On the evening of July 14, South-Central Minzu University (SCMU) and the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil (UFBA) held a virtual signing ceremony for their cooperation agreement. Liu Yi, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and President of SCMU, and Paulo César Miguel de Oliveira, President of UFBA, signed the agreement and delivered speeches. The ceremony was presided over by Fang Debin, Vice President and Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee, with attendance from heads of relevant schools and administrative departments.


Liu Yi first expressed gratitude to UFBA for hosting SCMU's art troupe and introduced the university's educational characteristics and achievements. He noted that China-Brazil relations are currently at their historical best, with strong political mutual trust between the two nations. The educational exchange and cooperation between the two universities serves as a concrete example of this friendship. SCMU is willing to engage in practical cooperation with UFBA in areas including faculty and student exchanges, establishment of overseas internship bases, and joint scientific research, contributing to the continued development of bilateral relations.

Paulo César Miguel de Oliveira highly praised the performance by SCMU's art troupe and fully endorsed President Liu Yi's proposed cooperation vision, expressing strong confidence in the future collaboration between the two institutions.


The agreement signing was witnessed by 9 representatives from our university and 17 representatives from the Brazilian side, followed by in-depth discussions on future cooperation plans.

Established in 1946 in Salvador, Brazil, the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) is one of the most influential public comprehensive universities in northeastern Brazil. This agreement signing represents one of the achievements from the "Colorful China" Cultural Exchange Troupe's recent visit to Brazil and Ecuador.
