On January 16, the University held its 2025 Student Work Commendation Conference and “Great Ideological and Political Course” on Fostering Virtue and Educating People. University leaders Xu Yeqin, Liu Yi, Li Hongyan, Qin Rui, and Ma Yutang, along with Cai Qiong, Standing Committee Member of the University Party Committee, heads of relevant departments, all student counselors, and award-winning faculty and student representatives, attended the event.
The conference, themed “Led by Role Models, Glorified by Youth”, commenced with the solemn sound of the national anthem. Qin Rui, Standing Committee Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, read the student commendation decisions, recognizing 1,285 scholarship recipients, 1,452 individual honorary title recipients, and 257 collective honor awards. Li Hongyan, Standing Committee Member of the University Party Committee and Vice President, read the faculty commendation decisions, honoring 203 front-line educators including outstanding class advisors and exceptional student counselors.

Award-winning faculty and student representatives shared their personal growth insights and practical experiences, touching upon themes such as scientific research exploration, academic competitions, class and group construction, and educational practice.

Xu Yeqin, Secretary of the University Party Committee, delivered the “Great Ideological and Political Course” on fostering virtue and educating people to all attending faculty and students. He first extended congratulations to the commended collectives and individuals, and systematically summarized the University’s outstanding achievements over the past year in areas including Party building leadership, talent cultivation, disciplinary innovation, and serving national strategies.
Xu Yeqin put forward three expectations for students: look to the future and consolidate your foundation, integrating personal growth with national development; cherish your honors and embrace responsibility, actively spreading positive energy; remain focused and move forward steadily, achieving excellence through persistent effort. He emphasized to all faculty members the importance of combining value guidance with knowledge transmission, serving as both guides and mentors to students; leading by example, influencing students through rigorous scholarship and solid work ethic; and remaining true to their original aspirations with a spirit of dedication, contributing greater efforts to fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and advancing the University’s “Double First-Class” initiative.
Prior to the commendation conference, the University’s community counselors delivered a heartfelt choral performance ofDear You, creating a warm and uplifting educational atmosphere. It is reported that the conference served not only as a summary and commendation of the past year’s student work, but also as a vivid ideological and political course focused on ideological guidance and educational effectiveness, inspiring faculty and students to continue striving and achieve even greater success in the new year.
