On the afternoon of April 26, the University’s Chinese Culture Festival 2026, themed “Seeds Gather in One Heart, A New Journey Begins with Charm”, grandly opened at the South Campus sports ground. The event was hosted by the Office of Student Affairs of the University Party Committee and co-organized by the Youth League Committee, the Law School, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Economics, the National Security School, the School of Education, the School of Marxism, and the School of Computer Science (School of Artificial Intelligence). Xu Yeqin, Secretary of the University Party Committee, Ma Yutang, member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, heads of relevant university departments, student affairs heads and counselor representatives from each college, along with nearly 10,000 faculty and students, gathered at the site to embrace the appointment with Chinese culture.

Auspicious lions danced to welcome the grand event; eye-dotting brought good fortune and opened a new chapter. At the beginning of the event, dragons and lions leaped with soaring vitality and momentum. Xu Yeqin dotted the eyes of the auspicious lions. As the brush touched down, it symbolized good luck and smoothness, and also marked the opening of the Chinese Culture Festival. Ma Yutang delivered the opening address, encouraging faculty and students to cultivate deep cultural roots, carry forward the Chinese cultural lineage, experience the charm of Chinese culture through immersive cultural activities, and build up united and motivated strength.

The Chinese Culture Festival innovatively created a “four-in-one” immersive experience model integrating artistic performances, intangible cultural heritage displays, hands-on craft experiences, and food tasting. Eight themed booths and a special cultural stage were set up on site, with the “I Love SCMU” balloon photo area offering scenic spots at every step. Through multiple integration and a combination of dynamic and static activities, the festival made fine traditional Chinese culture tangible, enjoyable, and learnable.

The event site was buzzing with activity. Faculty and students made flower wreaths, lacquer fans, dough figurines, and painted kites, experiencing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship through the flow of their fingers; they rubbed ancient coins, solved lantern riddles, prepared Chinese seal-script incense, and recited Tang poems, touching the warmth and wisdom of traditional culture through calligraphy and painting. The cultural stage offered a splendid array of performances.The Auspicious Dragon and Awakening Lionopened with a thunderous performance, fully displaying Eastern aesthetics and the spirit of China. Various programs followed one after another, bringing the audience to one climax after another. The chorusThe Sincere Heroperformed by counselors from the School of Computer Science took the stage as the finale, singing the youthful ideals and the sense of duty and responsibility of the SCMU members. At the conclusion of the event, leaders and guests took a group photo with all performers and staff, capturing beautiful moments and bringing the event to a successful close.
